Cardiorespiratory (Cardiac) physiotherapy is concerned with the prevention and rehabilitation of patients suffering from heart disease or lung disease. The most common symptoms experienced by these patients are shortness of breath, fluid retention, wheezing, increased mucus production, a cough, or reduced ability to exercise. Patients with severe heart or lung injuries or who require heart or lung operations are usually admitted directly to the hospital, people with chronic cardiac conditions who experience flare-ups or exacerbations may require hospitalization.
While you are in the hospital, your doctor may prescribe Cardiac rehabilitation & physiotherapy. A physiotherapist will assess your condition and give you recommendations on exercises and treatments you should undertake, as well as advice on how to exercise safely and effectively at your home.
You can let us know as soon as your heart disease is diagnosed or surgery is scheduled, our physiotherapist at physioplus will design an individual cardiac rehabilitation and education program for you after understanding your health status.
You can start therapy immediately when you are discharged and return home. Your treatment involves a range of activities including breath management exercises, movement instructions on how to walk/sit/lie down in your daily life, and other workouts to completely heal or make better your condition depending on the state of your disease or conditions.
Our goal is to help you return to an active lifestyle after surgery and reduce your risk of future heart problems.
