Neurological disorders mainly affect our brain, spinal cord, and nerves; these cause loss of mobility and sensation, tremors, weak muscles, uncoordinated movements and pain.
The primary goal of neuro rehabilitation is to help people with neurological conditions, improve their overall quality of life and enable them to regain as much function and independence as possible.
Your physical therapist makes a comprehensive assessment of your strengths, coordination and balance, which allows the therapist to prepare a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation.
Depending on the severity of your disability and condition, neuro rehabilitation treatment may include joint mobilization, sensory retraining, postural, walking and spasticity exercises, balance re-education, and pain management.
Some people with neurological conditions may need specialized exercise prescriptions, a home exercise program, extra support, and a high level of care or specialized equipment. In such a case, our physiotherapist will be able to guide you and your family to the most appropriate services and institutions.
